Software Engineer (Entry Level)

Work for a fun, innovative & growing software firm that really values its people. You will be part of an office-based team engaged in custom software development and integration projects, involving packaged CRM products. You will be assigned to tasks and projects as needed. Additionally you will be responsible for following coding standards, best practices and ensuring all development work is supported by comprehensive technical documentation.

Responsibilites

  • Develop product customizations as specified in Technical Design Documents (TDDs) which can include scripts, custom reports, integrations with other applications using web services, web front-end HTML/CSS development and back-end database manipulation via custom APIs and/or direct SQL.
  • Maintain clear documentation and tracking details to ensure a clear audit trail.
  • Establish coding standards and source control.
  • Produce technical documentation including Technical Design Documents (TDDs), Customization Deployment plan documents and Test Case document.
  • Follow the requirements and recommendations in the relevant Project Methodology.
  • Observe coding standards, code quality and documentation standards.
  • Assist in the production of project scopes, including research and development tasks and proving functionality or capability.
  • Work within one or more virtual teams along with Application Engineers, QA engineers, Project Managers and other members of the organization.
  • Consult with customers on implementation and maintenance of custom CRM products.
  • Participate in design workshops with customers either on-site or by phone and desktop sharing.
  • Conduct technical and custom product support training for customers and staff as required.
  • Other similar professional duties assigned.

Selection Criteria

  • Salesforce knowledge is highly advantageous.
  • Good command in PHP, HTML, CSS, JavaScript and MySQL.
  • Must have good experience with agile methodology.
  • Must be confident with all customer facing activities.
  • Must be able to multitask and handle multiple projects with ease.
  • 1-2 years of commercial Web and Software application development experience.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Nice to have a knowledge of Dot Net and MVC design patterns.
  • Any CRM knowledge or certification is a huge plus. (Oracle RightNow, MS Dynamics, Salesforce, Sugar CRM etc.)
  • Ability to travel occasionally as required.
  • PR holders or Australian citizens only.
